Our Own Bear Cave

We have the first ever BEAR CAVE

in our classroom!

It's the perfect spot to Bear story to our big Bear Friend.

We have been enjoying Karma Wilson's Bear Series about a BIG Brown Bear and all his friends. Their adventures always include Bear's cave so the kids LOVE reading his stories in our own Bear Cave.

CAN YOUR CHILD?

By the end of November, your child should be able to...

Write his/her first name
Identify letters Mm, Aa, Ss, Pp, Tt, Ii, Nn, Cc
Write numbers to 20+
Count aloud to 20+
Begin to count by 5's and 10's to 100
Count on from numbers 0-10
Begin to count backwards from 20-0
Recognize numbers 0-10+, in random order
Follow a 2-3 step direction.
Identify common word family words (-at, -an, -in, -it)
Begin to identify friends names in classroom
Read/write sight-words:
I, can, we, see, the, a, like, to, and, go
Identify/describe basic shapes
Draw a circle, square, triangle, and rectangle
Begin to write a simple sentences, using sight-words and environmental print.
Identify and produce rhyming words
Break apart words by sounds (cat = /c/-/a/-/t/)
Zip jacket
